Privacy and Copyright Statement

Vicinity Jobs Inc (referred to here as “VICINITY JOBS”) owns and operates the Vicinity Jobs Network of web sites, including Fairy Lake Jobs. At VICINITY JOBS, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our users and copyrights. This Privacy Statement describes why and how VICINITY JOBS collects and uses certain information on all Web sites that VICINITY JOBS owns and operates (referred to collectively as the ''SITES''), including but not limited to FairyLakeJobs.NET, VicinityJobs.COM, and NeighbourhoodJobs.COM. By creating an account on one of the SITES, you agree to abide by and be subjected to the principles and rules described in this Statement.

VICINITY JOBS reserves the right to modify this policy at any time, in which case VICINITY JOBS will publish a new privacy policy at this same location. Any such change will be effective immediately upon publishing.

VICINITY JOBS is a Canadian company located in Ontario, Canada. Data provided by you will be stored and processed in whole or in part on servers located in Canada and in the United States. All data that we collect from our users is subject to Canadian privacy and copyright laws. Each user is solely responsible and liable for the accuracy and legality of all content that he/she provides and publishes, and for ensuring that the provided content does not violate Canadian copyright and privacy regulations.

This Privacy Statement applies solely to the information we collect on the SITES, and does not apply to information we collect in any other fashion.

Web Sites of Third Parties

The SITES of VICINITY JOBS operate as Internet Search Engines. Internet search results by their nature contain links to other Web sites that we have no control over. Publishers of job postings on the SITES may choose to include in their postings links to third party web sites as well. Most of these links are to web sites owned and operated by companies and individuals that VICINITY JOBS is not associated with and has no control over. VICINITY JOBS is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third party Web sites that you may reach by following links from the SITES. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any Web site before providing personal information to it.

Types of Information Collected and Usage Thereof

VICINITY JOBS is the sole owner of the information collected on the SITES. The SITES do not collect personally identifying information about you except when you specifically and knowingly provide it. We do, however, collect information from you in the following ways:

IP Addresses

We may collect IP address from visitors to the SITES. An IP address is an anonymous number assigned to your computer by your Internet Service Provider at the time when you access the Internet and does not disclose your personal identity. We may record and use IP address information to analyze web traffic, track users' movement, identify and prevent fraud, and diagnose and resolve possible technical issues. We reserve the right to block and disallow access to the SITES from any IP address whose users we suspect of intending to commit fraud. Such decisions are made solely at the discretion of VICINITY JOBS and VICINITY JOBS does not have to explain the reasons for such decision. VICINITY JOBS is not liable for any damages arising from VICINITY JOBS blocking any IP address from accessing the SITES.

Use of your name, emails, addresses, phone and fax numbers

We collect Email addresses, postal addresses, phone, and fax numbers for the sole purpose of publishing job postings and news articles, submitting job applications, and verifying the identity of employers and job seekers for the purpose of fraud prevention. We will not sell names, emails, addresses, phone and fax numbers collected through the SITES to third parties.

If you are an employer, we will only show your contact information to visitors to your job postings if you have explicitly opted to have your information displayed to visitors to your postings at the time of creating and configuring your employer account with the SITES. You can change this option at any time by updating your profile. Such updates will take effect immediately upon successful submission of our online employer profile update form. For security reasons, update requests cannot be submitted in a different manner.

If you are a job applicant, we will disclose your contact information to the individuals advertising job openings that you have applied for using our online application submission tools. In addition, we will show your resume and contact information to other employers if you have specifically opted to have your resume and contact information available to employers looking for candidates. This option is set initially at the time of creating your job seeker account with the SITES and you can change it at any time by updating your profile. Such updates will take effect immediately upon you successful submission of our online job seeker profile update form. For security reasons, update requests cannot be submitted in a different manner.

We may contact you to announce changes to the services that we provide, or to inform you of changes to the terms and conditions under which we provide our services.


The SITES have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of any information that we collect and store. All of your personal information is stored in Internet servers at a secure data centre facility. However, although we do our best to protect your private information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information.


We use cookies to identify you and your computer and ensure that only you have access to update your personal information stored in our database.

Exception to Privacy Policy

VICINITY JOBS will provide personally identifying information about users when required by law or governmental authority including, without limitation, under request of subpoena.
